Keeping elegant time

This clock was in the National Trust’s Georgian House, in the main bedroom for many years. Visitors to Edinburgh would come and visit it, in its rather incongruous position. It is now installed in the drawing room of a 17c Welsh farmhouse, and very happy in its new surroundings. The chinoiserie panels and elegant silver gilt frame are entirely suitable for a family with ambitions to advance in commerce.
